Enterprise webcasting is turning a significant corner in 2012. A confluence of factors - ranging from the retirement of several aging formats to the radical expansion of tablet computing in the corporation - are favoring a webcasting universe that is dominated by HTML5 video and the Adobe Flash Platform. Specifically, I believe that HTML5 will own the mobile space while the multicasting of Flash (multicast fusion) will become the standard for desktop video communication both inside and outside the firewall.

We're seeing strong interest in Flash as a preferred corporate video format, especially now that we are able to offer peer-assisted content delivery through our cloud-based WebCaster platform. That is, we can give an enterprise all the advantages of multicasting on the Flash Platform without any of the hassles and expense of maintaining a multicast capable video solution on-premises. That kind of flexibility is extremely valuable for companies that want the ability to reach both external audiences and internal employees throughout the entire enterprise without stressing their network or allocating a lot of resources to a major video IT project.

Meanwhile, mobile video is transforming our customers' expectations for the entire webcasting experience. People want to be able to participate in live interactive webcasts wherever they are from virtually any kind of device. We're already supporting live webcasting on iPad, iPhone and Android devices, with more to come, so we think this is a positive trend and hope to see it continue in the future.
