Kaltura commercializes a new version of its self-hosted video platform, empowering service providers to integrate, customize, and resell video services to their customers from behind their own firewall or cloud.
New York, NY(11 May 2010)
Kaltura, Inc. (http://www.kaltura.com), developer of the first open source online video platform, announced today that it has commercialized a new version of its self-hosted online video platform software, empowering service providers to integrate, customize, and resell video services to their customers from behind their own firewall or cloud. The new commercial release follows successful beta deployments of the self-hosted software by customers around the world, including the US, Europe, South America, and Australia. Kaltura is the only online video platform that is available both in the form of self-hosted software - for internal deployments or for reselling purposes - and in the form of hosted SaaS services. Kaltura also offers seamless migration between the two forms of deployment.
Kaltura provides the only self-hosted video platform in the marketplace today. The offering is ideally suited for large publishers, enterprises, universities, CMS vendors, Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), hosting providers, cloud vendors, telcos, digital agencies, and system integrators that are looking to host and provide their own video solution or to resell video services to their customers.
"While we provide our hosted video platform to tens of thousands of sites, a large and growing number of publishers, enterprises, and service providers are looking to customize their own integrated video functionalities and deliver them from their own data center or cloud. For them Kaltura is the only solution available today," said Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura Chairman & CEO. "Our open source offering presents a highly attractive alternative to both ‘build' and ‘buy.' Kaltura's self-hosted platform enables customers to enjoy code ownership, flexibility, freedom from vendor lock-in, and cost savings, with a robust platform that is supported by a leading vendor and backed by a global developer community that ensures an unmatched pace of innovation."
