Viddler to Release New HTML5 Video Player
Mobile-first interactive video player designed for business communication, distance learning, and multi-channel publishing

Online media platform developer Viddler will release its secure, interactive HTML5 video player on April 29th. The new user interface and player, called Arpeggio, are optimized for mobile devices, while continuing to support older browser environments. The initial release to partners and developers will be followed by general availability to all Viddler customers.
Arpeggio is designed to meet the needs of Viddler’s core users, including corporate communicators, education and distance learning professionals, and multi-channel publishers. Mirroring those users’ increased reliance on tablets and smartphones, Viddler’s new player brings a secure, interactive video experience to an increasingly mobile audience.

Viddler’s Arpeggio HTML5 player will not only bring secure video to those devices, it will also make interactive media a measureable benefit for many businesses and organizations.”

Arpeggio allows Viddler account administrators to select an HTML5 player as the default, with a Flash player as an automatic fallback for older browsers. Besides basic player controls, it also includes Viddler’s patented timeline-based text commenting. Such video interactivity already enhances corporate communications and online training, and will extend that benefit to users of devices that do not support Flash.
Other Arpeggio features include responsive sizing of the player window, ADA-compliant screen reader support, and single language captions. The ability to “skin” the player is also included, with other branding features to be added shortly.
The new player continues Viddler’s commitment to video security, including SSL support, domain restriction, GeoFencing, and IP Whitelisting available to users with sensitive or proprietary video content.
