Infrastructure Product Manager

The Challenge:

The Infrastructure Product Manager (IPM) will translate end-user application 
product and functional requirements in to requirements for data service 
(backend) systems. The IPM will work closely with the end-user product 
team and application developers to ensure that the backend systems and 
services meet their requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.  
The IPM will also manage 3rd party vendor relationships and help drive 
requirements in to partner roadmaps.  The IPM will participate in interface 
and design discussions with the data services engineering and QA team. 


The Task:

* Translate application requirements in to backend system requirements
* Gather and prioritize specific customer requests
* Serve as conduit between data services engineering / QA team and clients 
in terms of requirements and design considerations
* Manage vendor relationships and drive data services requirements on to 
vendor roadmaps
* Work with project management organization to facilitate timely delivery 
of backend product
* Perform high-level interface and system design tasks with engineering 
team
* Advocate / Educate internal clients and potential clients about data 
services backend products

Required Qualifications:

* At least 5 years experience in a software development environment of 
large-scale distributed systems in ONE OR MORE of the following: Java, 
UNIX/Linux, Web Services, Oracle, MySQL
* At least 3 years of system architecture or program management experience
* 
Proven track record of collaboration with product owners and translation 
of product requirements in to technical requirements
* Experience with vendor selection and management
* Experience in the domains of IPTV/ Cable TV / Video Delivery a PLUS.
