TalkPoint Reports a 1200-Percent Growth in its Live and On-Demand Mobile Webcasts for 2012

Mobile technology releases and the Convey self-service platform fuel growth

New York, NY(29 Jan 2013)

TalkPoint, the leader in global communications technology, specializing in browser-based audio and video webcasting, announced today that mobile viewership of live and on-demand webcasts using TalkPoint technology increased by 1200 percent in 2012.

The biggest months of mobile webcasting delivery growth occurred in the months of May, August and September and may be partially credited to the major technology releases of the Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Note tablet and Apple iPhone 5, respectively.

This significant mobile delivery increase can also be attributed to TalkPoint’s introduction of its self-service webcasting platform, Convey. Convey allowed clients to create enterprise-level webcasting events on their own with the use of an automated signal acquisition from a VCU, encoder, webcam or telephone line. Since customers had the flexibility of running self-service events in addition to managed events, the overall number of events, as well as those viewed on mobile devices, grew significantly. In August 2012, mobile webcasting access had increased by 50 times over last year.

Both the mobile delivery option and Convey have granted clients greater access to live and on-demand webcasts so they can conveniently connect with employees, sales teams and other customers without forgoing interactive elements like Q&As, surveys, polling and social media functionality.

“The data shows that mobile webcasting is not only growing, but it is now essential for our customers to effectively conduct business presentations,” said TalkPoint CEO, Nick Balletta. “As more mobile devices are introduced to the market, these figures will skyrocket. With the help of our clients, we’ll continue to update our technology in order to support the latest smartphones and tablets so that webcasting reach is extended for our clients.”
