David Goldman is the founder and CEO of COMEDY TIME, a market leader in the production, licensing and distribution of short-form comedy content for mobile, broadband and VOD cable applications.
Goldman founded COMEDY TIME while functioning as President and CEO of Power Entertainment, one of Hollywood's leading management and production companies specializing in comedy. Goldman founded Power in 1999 and sold his interest in the company in April, 2005. During Goldman's tenure the Company's clients included such established comedic talent as The Second City, Martin Lawrence, Eugene Levy, John Leguizamo, Nick Cannon, Craig Kilborn, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, Jeff Dunham and SNL's Seth Meyers, Fred Armisen and Kenan Thompson.
While at Power, Goldman produced half-hour television under production deals at both Twentieth Television and Touchstone Television. Goldman produced the UPN hit show "One on One" which is now in syndication. Goldman, a lawyer and member of the California Bar, also crafted strategic partnerships for Power in film, CDs and DVDs, and online, positioning Power as the primary comedy content provider to America Online.
Goldman began his entertainment career at the William Morris Agency where he represented directors, actors and musicians. He was vice-president of the motion picture department and head of the motion picture director's division. He later served a similar function at competing agency ICM. His agenting clients included Will Smith, Mick Jagger, Kurt Russell, Roland Emmerich, Renny Harlin, Billy Idol, the Beach Boys and David Lee Roth.
