Anthony Q. Artis is a 20-year veteran of the film and TV industry and the author of the best-selling film book The Shut Up and Shoot Documentary Guide (Focal Press) and a regular instructor on lynda.com where his many video courses include “Video Production Techniques: Promotional Videos” (http://bit.ly/WKmB6w) and the weekly series “Pro Video Tips” (http://bit.ly/PbO8JD). His second book published by Focal Press, The Shut Up and Shoot Freelance Video Guide is a complete primer on shooting commercials, corporate, and other videos for hire. Anthony is also the co-host of The Double Down Film Show podcast. His features and shows have been screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, the IFP Feature Market, Slamdance, and on MTV. Most notably, Anthony produced IFP Feature Market grand prize-winner Shelter; associate-produced the IFP-produced feature documentary Paper Chasers; and served as a Segment Producer for the popular MTV reality series Flipped. He is a video jack-of-all trades who has worked professionally in crew positions as diverse as producer, cinematographer, gaffer, sound mixer, and location manager. He is presently a freelance director/videographer an adjunct instructor at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for the where he has taught video production techniques for the last decade.
