Ken Murphy's media and entertainment career consistently places him at the intersection of transformational fusions of the arts, commerce and technology.
Mr. Murphy is senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at Rhapsody International, Inc., a leading streaming music subscription service with over 2.5 million subscribers in 32 countries. In this capacity he serves as a member of the senior executive team and leads product innovation and strategic partnership initiatives that bring streaming music experiences to new audiences and increase revenues for artists, composers, publishers and distributors.
Prior to joining Rhapsody, Mr. Murphy was vice president of studios for GameHouse, RealNetworks' games division, where he led a global team responsible for well-known social and mobile game franchises including "Slingo", "Collapse!," "Delicious!", and "UNOTM", which have been distributed across multiple platforms and devices and enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. Mr. Murphy joined RealNetworks in 2006 to manage business planning and operations for the games division, where he lead integration of multiple corporate acquisitions and drove the company's expansion into social and mobile gaming.
Mr. Murphy's career also encompasses a variety of roles with The Walt Disney Company's world-renowned theme park division, where he was a founding executive team member of Disney Creative Entertainment. In 2003, he co-founded Mousetrappe, Inc., an award-winning media production company. Originally a professional musician, Mr. Murphy holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music and an MBA from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business.
