LOWELL THALER
Live production and sports producing have been at the forefront of Lowell Thaler’s 40 year career in broadcasting. Beginning as an intern at WPLG (ABC) Miami, he later became a director for the station’s #1 rated news shows. Thaler then moved to sports producing where he enjoyed staff positions with the Dallas Cowboys (Jimmy Johnson Show) and PGA Tour Productions (Inside the PGA Tour). In 1998, he founded Thaler Media which provides full turn-key production services for the PGA of America. This includes ENG and full production support at major events such as the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup, as well as long and short form programming for the PGA’s network partners CBS, NBC, Golf Channel and Turner Sports.
With the technologies of LiveU and Newtek, Thaler’s career has now come full circle. In less than six months, Thaler Media has produced live stream programming for the PGA of America, Honda Classic (PGA Tour), USGA and Western Golf Association. At the Western Amateur Championship in Chicago, four cameras sent LiveU cellular bonded signals to Thaler’s home in North Palm Beach making for a literal twist of “At Home Productions.”
