To help filmmakers learn how to maximize the features of their Canon equipment, the Canon Digital Learning Center now offers two new educational resources created with the professional image maker in mind. These offerings include an XA25/XA20 camcorder video tutorial series and an easy-to-use Field of View Comparator tool.
XA25/XA20 Tutorial Series
At first glance, the features and functions of the XA25/XA20 professional camcorders can be seen more for run-and-gun ENG-style users. However, in this new video tutorial series, Canon Digital Learning Center contributor Jem Schofield shows how versatile the XA25/XA20 camcorders are, by demonstrating how they can also shoot cinematically with just a few simple settings adjustments.
Five Video Tutorials are available, including:
- Shooting Action
- Documentary Filmmaking
- Multi-Camera Shooting
- Video Journalism Part 1
- Video Journalism Part 2

Field of View Comparator
The Canon Digital Learning Center Field of View Comparator is a helpful tool that provides filmmakers with an approximate pre-visualization and comparison of various camera models and camera sensor sizes with lenses focal lengths ranging from 8mm to 800mm (encompassing the current line of Canon’s EF and Cine lenses). With this interactive tool, users can also experience the field of view differences between two cameras or sensor sizes in an instant.
