CoreMelt, a leading provider of advanced video plug-in effects for the editorial, design and visual effects communities, today announced the release of its SliceX product for Final Cut Pro X.
SliceX speeds workflow for editors by letting them quickly draw freeform shapes for masking, color correction, depth of field or vignettes. This facility is available directly in the viewer using custom FCP X onscreen controls.
Roger Bolton, CoreMelt founder and director states “As a working editor I was frustrated that I had only basic oval masks in FCP X. Going into Motion to create a simple shape for masking is a painful bottleneck that slows down the editors creative flow”. With SliceX editors can do more directly on the timeline, saving complicated back and forth workflows.
Common uses for SliceX:
• cut out layers for skies, buildings or backgrounds in seconds.
• define areas for depth of field and tilt shift effects.
• create complex shapes for color correction, including using shapes with the color board.
• remove unwanted objects from frame by cloning areas of the image.
• use shape masks with any built in effect or with third party plugins.
What Customers are Saying:
“I love this, I’ve been testing it out for the past two hours and I am simply blown away!... This is one of the best plugin collections I’ve ever seen for FCP X. I highly recommend it!“ Ben Balser, FCPro X University.
