Users of the HVS-2000 include houses of worship, corporate facilities, government agencies, broadcasters, and in educational settings
FOR-A announces that its newest video production switcher, the HVS-2000, recently began shipping and is being delivered to a diverse customer roster. The switcher was designed based on significant customer feedback, and includes groundbreaking technologies that set it apart from other switchers in its class. The HVS-2000 made its U.S. debut at the NAB Show earlier this year, and users of the HVS-2000 include houses of worship, corporate facilities, government agencies, broadcasters, and in educational settings.
One area that FOR-A’s HVS-2000 has already proven to be a popular choice is in houses of worship. Churches who have purchased the switcher include California-based Valley Baptist Church, Frazer United Methodist Church in Alabama, and California’s High Desert Church.
Many video production services companies are also choosing to add the value-rich HVS-2000 to their inventory. Georgia-based Custom Media Solutions, who specializes in high-quality live and post production services, has purchased a HVS-2000 switcher. Production house and equipment rental company Media Mania, located in Abu Dhabi, is another new owner of the HVS-2000 unit. Audio and video systems designer and integrator Technical Innovation, headquartered in Atlanta, is also a new HVS-2000 customer. Austin, Texas-based Omega Broadcast Group, a professional video sales, rentals, and services company, has also purchased the flexible, cost efficient switcher.
“The HVS-2000 offers numerous features that greatly benefit our customers, including its virtual M/E’s, which allow a regular AUX bus to be a fully functional M/E with cuts, mixes, wipes, and keys, all with preview. Its Power Macro feature allows operators to create up to 100 events, and the switcher offers four multi-viewers with up to 16 inputs per screen,” said David Fry, Vice President of Omega Broadcast Group.
Omega Broadcast has been relying on the HVS-2000 for its 4K productions. Fry explained, “Omega Broadcast engineered the first 4K live stream here in Austin earlier this year at SXSW (South by Southwest), and we’re also using the switcher in other 4K environments, such as medical and military productions, as well as regular broadcasts that are captured in 4K and down-converted to HD for current release.”
NextVR, who specializes in the capture and delivery of live and on-demand virtual reality experiences, is another user of the HVS-2000 video switcher. Recently the company brought live streaming virtual reality to the 2015 U.S. Open golf tournament using the HVS-2000 video switcher’s MELite™ capability, which allowed NextVR to have the full functionality of a 6 M/E switcher.
Several Latin American customers have also purchased the HVS-2000 video switcher, including Colombian public television station Telepacifico, who recently ordered two units. FOX Sports Colombia is another customer of the new HVS-2000 unit. Brazilian companies Multivideo and Casablanca have each also ordered two HVS-2000 switchers.
The FOR-A switcher is also proving to be a popular choice among European broadcasters. New users of the HVS-2000 include Szolnok TV in Hungary and Media Burst in Portugal.
FOR-A’s HVS-2000 can be used for SD, HD, 3G and 4K productions, and allows up to 48 inputs/18 outputs or 40 inputs/22 outputs (optional). The versatile, cost efficient HVS-2000 offers unique features that allow operators to have greater creativity in their switching, such as its ONStage™ function specifically designed for staging events and its FLEXaKEY™ function, which allows users to add, move, and multiply key and DVE layers to traditional M/E or MELite resources.
