Matrox Intros Monarch SDK

New comprehensive set of tools lets systems integrators, hardware and software developers, programmers and IT professionals harness the streaming capabilities of Monarch HD streaming appliances from within their own custom applications running on any platform

Matrox® Video today announced Monarch™ SDK, a comprehensive set of tools that lets systems integrators, hardware and software developers, programmers and IT professionals harness the streaming capabilities of Monarch HD streaming appliances from within their own custom applications running on any platform — PC, Mac, mobile devices or automation systems.

The first release of Monarch SDK, an HTTP-based API, includes documentation and sample code that let developers write applications to configure and control Monarch HD. All streaming parameters are accessible. Bitrates can even be dynamically adjusted, without stopping the stream.

“AV and broadcast equipment suppliers now have a very straightforward way to include a high quality webcasting service as part of their overall product offerings,” said Daniel Maloney, technical marketing manger, Matrox Video. ” Customized applications incorporating Monarch HD appliances can be effectively tailored for live event producers, houses of worship, justice systems, medical and education environments, and other internet broadcasters.

Matrox Monarch HD will be demonstrated in booth SL5019 at the 2014 NAB Show (Las Vegas, April 7-10).

Price and availability

Priced at $995 US (€799, £699) not including local taxes and delivery, Matrox Monarch HD is now available through a worldwide network of authorized dealers. Monarch SDK will be available in May 2014. Developers may obtain more information about Monarch SDK by e-mailing video.info@matrox.com.
