Reinforcing Company Culture Through Online Event Video
For any professional online video producer who is looking to jump into corporate work, producing corporate meeting highlights is a great way to start. Here Edit 1 Media's Chris Randall explains how producing videos for Aegis Living's annual corporate meetings has grown in complexity and profitability over the years.
Producing the Highlight Film
From a technical standpoint, one of the hardest things to accomplish is putting together the highlight of the week to show on the meeting's final day. Not only do we need to incorporate b-roll footage from all of the various activities, but we also need to find meaningful quotes from the footage we shoot of the speakers that reinforce the theme of the meeting.
To accomplish this, we write down timecode of key messages during the speakers presentations. Each night, we gather up the footage and capture it. Another thing we do to speed up the process is record to FireStore Direct-to-Edit drives.
Media management is critical when you're under a tight deadline to produce the video. We create new projects for each day to easily keep track of all the speakers and to setup timelines for the multicam edits. This year, to speed things up, we used DSLR cameras to shoot all of our B-roll footage. This really helped cut down on the time it took to find specific shots that were needed in the highlight. Check out this year's highlight (below) to see how we incorporated key quotes into the edit.

The Perks of Producing Corporate Meeting Videos
For any event videographer who is looking to jump into corporate work, producing corporate meeting highlights are a great way to start. Having experience in producing Same-Day Edits will also help when it comes to dealing with producing a video with such a short amount of time.
You can also add on other projects during the meeting such as employee testimonials, interviewing the CEO for a web marketing video, creating a history video of the company, and producing a video library of the presented speakers.
