Prior to joining CNNMoney, Silver managed the general news and business newsgathering assignment desk for CNN New York after helping launch The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer as a senior producer in 2005. He began his business journalism career at Bloomberg Television in New York in 1996, where he worked for more than six years as a senior feature producer for the financial news network. His investigative work into the secrecy of mutual funds earned him an Emmy nomination for Business and Financial News in 2004.
