As the Vice President of Strategy and Development, Austin Chang oversees, manages and executes on MTV Digital strategy objectives in collaboration with production, programming, operations, technology, marketing and communications team.
Austin is responsible for the development of creative, product and platform ideas both internally and externally for MTV Digital that align with strategic areas of business development and focus on key areas of monetization, user growth/retention, promotion/marketing and brand equity for MTV.
Under his guidance, MTV has launched several digital programs and products that extend the linear viewer experience online, including Backchannel, a competitive chat game developed for 'The Hills', '$5 Cover', a new multi-platform music series, and developed key strategic partnerships around MTV's Video Music Awards, Movie Awards and their new live daily show 'What You're Watching with Alexa Chung'.
Outside of MTV Digital, Austin is also an Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design in the MFA and BFA Communication, Design and Technology department. Austin has an undergraduate degree from Williams College and graduate degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design and Parsons School of Design.
