As Ampersand’s Chief Technology Officer, Gerrit Niemeijer oversees the ongoing development of the company’s advanced TV advertising platform, including its unparalleled data and inventory resources and world class technology infrastructure.

For the past two decades, Gerrit has been one of the foremost architects in driving the development of the advanced television ecosystem, holding over 20 patents in the space. Gerrit was previously Chief Technology Officer and founding member of Visible World, where he won technical Emmy Awards and led the development of AudienceXpress, the first programmatic platform for buying linear TV.

Before Visible World, Gerit was Vice Prersident and senior project manager at Philips, where he developed its digital set-top box platform and started a unit that integrated internet technologies into consumer electronics platforms, eventually launching Philips’ internet-enabled set-top boxes in the North America market.

Gerrit holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
