Dan Phillips serves as Chief Technology Officer of Hulu where he is responsible for leading Hulu’s technical and product strategy to drive innovation for consumers and partners. In this role, Phillips oversees Hulu’s entire Technology and Product organization, spanning engineering, data center operations, network and broadcast operations, information technology, and program management, as well as product management, user experience and product development.

Prior to joining Hulu, Phillips served as Chief Operating Officer at TiVo, where he oversaw the technology and research organizations during a time of incredible growth and transformation. Phillips played an instrumental role during this transition and built processes and restructured the web development, IT, and research organizations to focus on business objectives and the customer. Prior to his time at TiVo, Phillips held roles at Trados / Uniscape and Crossworlds Software.

Phillips holds a BS in Computer Information Systems and Accounting from Humboldt State University. He has published several papers with NASA and was granted a patent for his work on expanded object models.
