Bob started his career as a broadcast engineer with a specialism in satellite technology, including a stint as a systems specialist for the BBC. He went on to spend a decade as a technologist in consumer electronics through the digital switchover era, involved in the apex of PVR technology, the launch of early HD platforms and early internet connected TV products. He has worked on many landmark and award winning projects, as well as helping define industry standards that remain relevant to the media industry.
In recent years Bob Hannent has been working for DAZN as a video architect, working through the substantial growth of the platform from two markets to now, global coverage and a significant subscriber base. He has worked on the entire content delivery pipeline and much of the supporting functions. He now works as a Principal Architect in Technical Operations and Infrastructure, focused on developing the supporting technology for the DAZN platform, networking and compute infrastructure. His responsibilities include being an architect for security in DAZN, with a specialist focus on content security.
