Over the past three decades, Steve Katz has been driving innovation at some of the world’s iconic technology and media brands. Steve has been a thought leader in technology strategy, digital transformation and corporate innovation for the media & entertainment industry. Steve also has entrepreneurial pedigree, having founded and led a number of successful Silicon Valley startups.
Presently, Steve oversees technology strategy for PlutoTV / ViacomCBS, where he is responsible for long-term planning, strategic partnerships and key innovation initiatives for the company’s streaming services technology organization. Previously, Steve was an executive partner at Gartner, advising CMOs on digital strategy. He also served as a strategic advisor to the Office of the CTO of Hearst, helping to guide the company’s innovation initiatives.
Previously, Steve was a CEO-in-residence at Samsung Accelerator & founder & CEO of Shoptouch, a mobile technology platform for proximity-based product discovery & personalized commerce. Steve launched Shoptouch while General Manager at IAC’s Hatch Labs in New York City, a corporate incubator that created Tinder. Prior to Shoptouch / Hatch, Steve has held a wide range of management roles, advancing innovation at IBM Watson Research Center, Apple & Sony Pictures Entertainment. He has also served as an executive strategy consultant to leading technology firms including Microsoft & Sony Corporation.
