Engineering Director
PlutoTV
I am a hands-on Engineering Director, coding/testing, and leading teams. I work virtually with PlutoTV and ViacomCBS colleagues and partners in Los Angeles, Brazil, Ukraine and other global locations.
Through trial & error, I have learned the values of Family, Faith, Gratitude, and an Entrepreneurial Spirit. I am inspired and humbled to work alongside diverse, technically passionate teams and strive to learn in agile, fast-paced environments. I seek to listen first to teammates before offering my input and advocate inclusive, open-minded, collaborative cultures.
I currently help our teams at Pluto deliver mobile apps (iOS, macOS, Android) & living room apps (Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Roku) which provide free live and video on demand content. Prior to joining PlutoTV, I worked for tech companies such as FOX, Verizon, Intel, iStreamPlanet, and Microsoft.
At FOX, I was a Director of Engineering focused on mobile (Android) & living room (Android TV, Chromecast, Fire TV) live streaming events and video on demand content for FOX Sports, FOX News, and FOX Entertainment. Some specific live events I supported include Super Bowl LIV, 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup™, FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, and Premier Boxing Champions pay per view bouts.
At Verizon Digital Media Services, I was a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer. I helped Verizon build a monetized online video platform which provides over-the-top streaming, live & video on demand delivery, CDN, security, analytics, quality of service (QoS) monitoring, and content management workflows. I helped deliver playback experiences on Set Top Box, game console, and mobile devices.
At Microsoft, I lead teams delivering mobile and commerce platforms in multiple engineering and customer facing roles. I was fortunate to be selected multiple times as a public speaker for conferences such as TechEd, PDC, TechReady, and National Retail Federation Big Show. I take great pride in my 12 years of service as a Microsoft employee.
“I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving: To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it - but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.” - Oliver Wendell Holmes”
