CBS To Stream Prime-Time Shows for Free
CBS announced on Tuesday that it will deliver ad-supported streams of some of its most popular shows, including CSI and Survivor, beginning with the new television season in September, according to Reuters.
The episodes will be posted on the network's Innertube channel the morning after each show airs on the network, the news service said. ABC launched a similar program earlier this year, and plans to continue it this fall.
Episodes of the three CSI properties will remain available for one month after the initial broadcast. Episodes of Jericho and Survivor will be accessible throughout the duration of the broadcast season.
"It further helps us extend the reach of the CBS brand and provides a new avenue for advertisers to engage with our programming, which in turn creates a new source of revenue for the company," said CBS Digital Media president Larry Kramer, according to Reuters.
