Enterprise Video Enters Phase Two
"You have to be very, very thoughtful about what it is you're actually trying to accomplish, because if you haven't figured out what you're trying to do you'll buy some very expensive, very lovely-looking system that does 95,000 things except the one that you actually need it to do," said media manager Daniel Sokolow. He was speaking on a panel on enterprise video at the recent Streaming Media East conference, highlighting the need for careful planning when growing an enterprise video effort.
"As far as I'm concerned, you can't spend enough time planning this," he added.
The panel started with the position that enterprise now has simple proficiency with video, but where does it go from there? In the discussion, online video specialists from various large companies share the choices they made in managing and governing large amounts of video.
