GaryVee Uncorked: Wine Library TV's Gary Vaynerchuk
And there’s a good chance that Vaynerchuk will continue to be in the public eye in the coming years. He isn’t looking for more book deals or more internet projects, but he is planning another move, he says. "At this point it’s television or nothing," Vaynerchuk admits. He’s taken several meetings in Los Angeles and is looking for the right project. "I was just in L.A. with my agents at CAA, meeting with several networks and got a series of talks in New York coming up."
Vaynerchuk says he’s willing to take his time with this step. "I’m extremely picky when it comes to television," he says. "I’d love to do it if I could find the right partner, but it’s going to be difficult because there are so many rules and things of that nature. It’s definitely something I’m looking at, exploring, but no different than if I were exploring any other business thing." (His dream project, by the way, would be a wine version of Jon Favreau’s Dinner for Five.)
Vaynerchuk may not be in a rush to move to TV, but with the way his career is going, he could end up there permanently sooner rather than later. Enjoy Wine Library TV while you have it, Vayniacs, because as one of online video’s indie success stories, Vaynerchuk might one day trade the computer screen for the television screen for good.
