How to Write an RFP
Request for Proposals for Internet Video Player
I. Scope
LotsaMedia, Inc. is seeking a vendor to provide design, development, and support for an internet video player that will be used to deliver LotsaMedia’s video content via its own portal and a variety of web pages. LotsaMedia seeks a turnkey solution and expects the vendor to provide all installation and training services required for LotsaMedia to utilize the system.
II. About LotsaMedia, Inc.
LotsaMedia is a joint venture of BigMediaCo, OldMediaCo, and technology innovator NewNetwork Systems. The new company was spun off to leverage emerging digital media technologies to grow audiences within nascent distribution channels and new media markets. LotsaMedia is led by Guy N. Cognito, who formerly led business development for BigMediaCo’s interactive division.
III. Submission Guidelines and Schedules
LotsaMedia envisions a six-week process for the RFP phase, beginning Feb. 1, 2007. All responders are expected to deliver a detailed cost proposal as well as make an in-person presentation of the proposed solution. Presentations will be scheduled for the fifth week of the process, and the contract will be awarded at the end of week six.
Requests for clarification should be sent to the appropriate contacts described below. All such requests should be received by the end of the third week, and you can expect responses within one business week of your request.
These presentations should be no more than 30 minutes in length, and provide an overview of your company, the personnel who would be assigned to this project, and a description of the proposed solution.
Electronic copies of the pricing proposal and any PowerPoint slides associated with the presentation should be submitted to the contacts described below.
