VBrick Acquires Fliqz for Strong Enterprise Video Offering

Companies looking for an all-in-one enterprise video solution should take a look at today's news from VBrick. The enterprise IP video company, which offers live and on-demand video tools for corporate, education, and government clients, has acquired the assets of Fliqz Media. Fliqz helps websites and blogs stream video while improving search engine rankings for those clips.

As a result of the acquisition, VBrick's VBoss online streaming system will be integrated with Fliqz's customizable solutions. VBrick promises one-stop shopping for businesses looking for live and on-demand video. VBrick will continue to offer the Fliqz self-service option to small- and medium-sized businesses. Fliqz customers include Major League Baseball, Rackspace, WebMD, and T-Mobile.

While the terms of the acquisition weren't disclosed, StreamingMedia.com columnist Dan Rayburn says VBrick paid well under $20 million for Fliqz. "For the original investors in Fliqz, they basically broke even on this deal," says Rayburn.

"Market demand for enterprise-wide video communications including live and on-demand as well as internal and external communications, continues to grow rapidly," says Andrew W. Davis, senior partner at Wainhouse Research.  "The Fliqz acquisition reflects VBrick's focus on aggressively addressing that growth.  Fliqz is a strong complement to the core capabilities the company has already been delivering."
