Vuier.com Launches in Beta, Lets Anyone Sell Online Video Views

A few days ago we told you about Stipz, a startup that lets anyone sell access to live video streams online. Today, we bring you Vuier (pronounced viewer), which offers a platform for selling video-on-demand.

According to co-founder Mark Rybarczyk, users start by uploading videos, which are then encoded into the right format. Based on the file size of the videos, users are given a minimum price they can charge for their content. They're free to charge more, if they wish. Vuier takes 15 percent of the revenue, although that can go as low as 10 percent for popular streamers.

Vuier videos can be embedded on any site. No matter where they're played or shared, the owner keeps control and can set the price. Once a member has generated $75 in payments, he or she can request the money be transferred to a PayPal account.

All users get 10GB of free storage to hold their videos. Those who maintain a balance of $85 get 50GB of free storage. Keeping a balance of $170 gets 100GB of storage. The site uses RTMPE security to protect all streamed videos.

The site just launched in beta, so there are still some rough edges to it. Still, if you need a simple way to monetize your work, Vuier is worth a look.
