A+E Networks Partners with Clearleap for VOD Distribution
Clearleap, an IP-based content management and distribution company, announced today that it has signed an agreement to power video-on-demand (VOD) distribution for the A+E Network's cable channels, including A&E, History, Lifetime, FYI, LMN, and H2. Clearleap didn't announced the length or terms of the agreement.
This deal could be expanded to include other types of online distribution, including TV Everywhere content, notes Clearleap, although it didn't say what that possibility is contingent upon.
“Demand for instant access to new content grows greater and greater everyday. As a result, so do the complexities in delivering massive amounts of programming across screens. That’s where Clearleap comes in," says David Mowrey, vice president of product management at Clearleap. "Our cloud-based platform and all-IP distribution network across the U.S. and Canada accelerate the distribution of A+E’s on-demand content. We help address the hugely complex logistical issues around multiscreen distribution and TV Everywhere.”
A+E Networks is turning to Clearleap to help manage the difficulties of on-demand content and ensure that the content viewers want is available, says Richard Shirley, A+E's vice president of distribution business development.
Clearleap's headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia. Other clients include HBO, BBC America, Sony Movie Channel, Scripps Network Interactive, and Time Warner Cable.
