ABCNEWS.com To Distribute Video Through ScreamingMedia

ABCNEWS.com (http://www.abcnews.com) entered into a syndication agreement with ScreamingMedia ( http://www.screamingmedia.com) to distribute its video and audio content to ScreamingMedia's customers.

ABCNEWS.com will distribute video packages created from ABC News programs broken out in categories like news, technology, and entertainment. ScreamingMedia will also distribute news and text stories from ABCNEWS.com.

"As ABCNEWS.com continues to set standards in our field, we are constantly seeking opportunities to offer our content to Internet users who want the most up-to-the-minute, highest-quality online news," said Bernard Gershon, senior vice president and general manager of ABCNEWS.com. "By working with ScreamingMedia, we will increase the number of people who get their news and information with ABCNEWS.com."

ABCNEWS.com was the first network news company to start webcasting an original series, SamDonaldson@ABCNEWS.com, last September. It wasn't clear, however, whether Sam Donaldson's daily show would be syndicated through ScreamingMedia.

ScreamingMedia, which had its IPO last week, is a distributor of content (audio, video and text) to its over 1,000 customers. According to the company, it has over 410 content providers.
