Akamai Completes Acquisition of INTERVU

Akamai (http://www.akamai.com) announced it completed its acquisition of INTERVU.

Under the terms of the stock-for-stock acquisition, each share of INTERVU common stock was exchanged for 0.5957 shares of Akamai common stock.

We believe our new, combined company is best positioned in the market to offer the next generation of interactive streaming solutions."

With the acquisition, Akamai became one of the dominant streaming media companies around--a veritable 500-pound gorilla. It offers content delivery, stream hosting, and services. It has more than 1,000 customers, 850 employees and a total of 3,000 delivery servers on its network.

Akamai will continue to be headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts with offices around the US and Europe (London, Munich, Paris).
