Akoo.com Launches Internet Entertainment Network

Akoo.com (http://www.akoo.com) officially launched its entertainment site featuring programming from over 3,000 radio and television stations around the world, as well as music videos and movie trailers and other audio/video programming.

Akoo's main features are a search engine for finding content, a scheduling component for customizing playlists and an automated "dial" that plays the playlist using either RealPlayer or Windows Media Player.

"Akoo.com wants to become the number one destination site for those who want to find, hear and see Internet broadcasting," said Niko Drakoulis, founder, president and CEO. "And, unlike other websites that merely aggregate content, akoo.com's technology, particularly Kima, will transform how people access and use Internet broadcasting."

The Kima is a wireless hardware device that lets users access Internet broadcasting away from their PCs. It consists of a base and receiving unit, that wirelessly retransmits audio from a PC to any home stereo or portable radio system within 1,000 feet. It will be available during the second quarter of 2000, says the company.
