Akoo.com Launches Online Film Festivals
Akoo.com has announced plans to launch a series of online film festivals, complete with full-length feature films. All films are free and will be archived on akoo.com for six months.
The first of the festivals will be "Mammoth Mutant Monster Fest," presented through a partnership with MovieFlix.com. The festival, which will be available through the month of August, includes seven monster films from the 1930's through the mid-1970's. These include Secret of the Loch (1934), Giant Gila Monster (1959), Son of Godzilla (1966) and Godzilla vs. Megalon (1976).
During the month of September, akoo.com will present a "Vintage Cartoon Festival," featuring a selection of Betty Boop, Felix the Cat, and Gumby cartoons. The cartoon festival is followed by the "Cult Horror Classics Marathon" during the month of October, featuring gruesome favorites such as Romero's "Night of the Living Dead" and Murnau's 1922 vampire classic, "Nosferatu".
MovieFlix.com, a privately held company based in Los Angeles, Calif., has developed and maintains a library of full-length movies, short films, independent films, and television shows available over the Internet via streaming. The entire library is currently available free to any user who registers providing basic demographic information.
