Akoo.com Partners With AltaVista

Radio portal Akoo.com (http://www.akoo.com) said today it will provide its listings to AltaVista.

AltaVista (http://www.altavista.com) will import akoo.com's database of over 4,000 Internet radio broadcasters into its search engine.

This move comes after last week's launch of AltaVista's "Entertainment Center", a new section of the site showcasing net entertainment.

Visitors to AltaVista can listen to live radio streams through akoo.com's co-branded player or simply go to akoo.com's website. Akoo.com sports a "proprietary" scheduling. Akoo is also a developer of a hardware Internet radio device called Kima that is set to be released soon. Sonicbox recently won the Internet radio race when it released the world's first device a few weeks ago.

"This partnership validates the quality of our database, as well as our proprietary technology, and we look forward to enhancing many of the three million multimedia searches conducted on AltaVista everyday," added Drakoulis.
