Anvato Streams TV Everywhere Content for Scripps Networks

TV Everywhere platform provider Anvato announced a significant win today when it revealed that it will power the TVE distribution for Scripps Networks Interactive brands HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel, and DIY Network. Content is available to authenticated pay TV viewers.

Scripps is using Anvato's Media Content Platform (MCP) to stream video and use dynamic ad insertion (DAI) for desktop and mobile viewers. The system dynamically targets local ad breaks for each supported multichannel video programming distributor (MVPD) and each viewer, stitching the ads in on the server side for smooth playback.

Anvato describes MCP as a turnkey software-based workflow for TVE and OTT delivery, saying that it works with both live and on-demand video.

“Scripps Networks Interactive is launching exciting new capabilities that put user experience first,” says Alper Turgut, Anvato's CEO. “Our server-side ad insertion eliminates spinning wheels, ad-blockers, and delivers truly seamless viewing experiences on all platforms while maximizing monetization."

For its part, Scripps is pleased with the ease of delivering targeted ads.

“Anvato has greatly simplified the process of deploying our TV brands to screens anywhere and everywhere, and helped us optimize advertisements with dynamic insertion of relevant ads for each authenticated user,” says Alix Baudin, senior vice president and general manager, digital product and operations at Scripps.
