Anvato to Debut Live Event Solution at Streaming Media East

Article Featured Image

While Anvato is known as a TV Everywhere platform provider, today it's broadening its offerings with the launch of Anvato Live Cloud. Targeted at broadcasters that need to create live coverage for tent-pole events or for news organizations reporting from remote locations, Anvato Live Cloud promises multi-device streaming, simple clip editing, and Facebook and Twitter sharing.

To use Live Cloud, producers will need to run their video through a broadcast encoder and then upload it to Anvato. That encoder could be anything from free software to broadcast hardware. Once video has reached Live Cloud, producers can stream it for playback on any device. Streams are available in multiple bitrates and are archived for later access. A cloud-based editing tool lets producers create clips for on-demand viewing while the event is still taking place, and social networking tools let producers post to their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Anvato says the service will be sold with pay-as-you-go pricing, but didn't give details. Live Cloud is launching in private beta. Broadcasters interested in trying the service should visit the Anvato Live Cloud site and request an invite. Streaming Media East visitors can see the service in person Tuesday and Wednesday at the conference in New York City.
