Anystream Receives an Investment of $13 Million from Intel

Anystream (www.anystream.com) announced today, at Streaming Media Europe 2000, that it has received a $13 million investment from the Intel 64 Fund. As part of its investment, Intel Corporation has agreed to work with Anystream to optimize the porting and tuning performance of the Anystream Agility Enterprise encoding platform for its Intel Itanium processor architecture.

Anystream has also announced that its Enterprise Encoding Platform is now capable of live webcasting. The Enterprise Platform enables simultaneous output of Microsoft and Real streams in any size or bitrate from a live source or tape, while also capturing the event in uncompressed format. This solution is also capable of webcasting multiple, simultaneous events.

In addition, Anystream has launched the Agility Workgroup Encoder, a solution to re-purpose content, regardless of the source, scaled for users the are not necessarily in need of its Enterprise solution, such as post-production houses and production companies. The new Workgroup Encoder is designed to increase output by automating the four phases of the encoding process: content acquisition, pre-processing, encoding and distribution.

The Workgroup Encoder ships with built-in profiles to encode in Real, Microsoft, QuickTime and MPEG-1. The Agility Workgroup acts as a shared network resource and allows content creators to submit jobs from their desktop.

Anystream has also announced that it is launching U.K. based operations, with a new office to be opened in London.
