BabyPressConference.com Raises $6.5 Million

BabyPressConference.com (http://www.babypressconference.com) announced it raised $6.5 million in Series C funding. It was lead by Primedia, owner of the largest provider of information to parents.

Other investors have included Toys"R"Us.com, Premier and Gleacher Capital Partners, an investment arm of Gleacher & Co. that has acted as investor in and financial advisor to a number of other healthcare Internet companies.

BabyPressConference.com will use the Series C funding for continuing expansion, marketing, content and technology purposes.

BabyPressConference.com is a company with a unique business plan; it is starting a service that allows parents to show off newborns in the hospital using streaming video. Expectant parents register and provide a list of family and friends. Invited participants receive a password for participation and free downloadable software from BabyPressConference.com.
