Beachfront Builder Now Creates Connected TV Apps
Beachfront Media, which makes online video solutions for publishers and advertisers, announced today that its video app development platform, Beachfront Builder, now creates apps for connected TVs, as well. Supported TV platforms include LG, Samsung, Roku, and most Google TV devices.
Along with this news, Beachfront announced that it was its own first customer. Beachfront also runs video search site MeFeedia, which now works on the Google TV platform. Google TV owners can even use a MeFeedia Android app to control their TVs and search for content on MeFeedia. The search site curates videos from 250,000 feeds and over 33,000 publishers. The app is available at Google Play.
Beachfront Builder will soon gain more functionality, as Beachfront Media will announce on February 4th that the platform is able to create HTML5 apps, as well. Prior to this, the platform could create apps for iOS, Android, and Windows 8 devices, as well as many connected TVs. HTML5 support lets video apps created with Beachfront Builder play in a web browser on any mobile device.
The platform is targeted to publishers and brands that want to quickly create and monetize apps for online video experiences, and that recognize that they need both HTML5 and native apps to reach all viewers.
