Video cloud services company Brightcove is hosting its Play 2015 conference today in Boston, Massachusetts, and chose the occasion to announce updates to several of its products.

Video Cloud Studio, Brightcove's core video publishing and management tool, is gaining an HTML5 interface that works on desktops and mobile devices, as well as a new upload tool. Video organization and management improvements include custom folders; streamlined workflows for videos, playlists, and video players; and the ability to set limited permissions for contributors and analysts. Video Cloud Studio is getting a metrics upgrade with a custom report builder that lets customers view results across multiple Video Cloud accounts. The upgraded version of Video Cloud Studio is currently only available to Video Cloud Pro and Enterprise customers, but should be generally available this summer.

Brightcove is also releasing the 2.0 version of its Once VOD cloud-based tool, which is used for stitching ads in video streams. Once VOD now integrates with Brightcove Player and mobile SDKs to lets marketers use actionable overlays to create interactive experiences. Once VOD also now supports Fairplay Streaming so publishers can monetize their Apple TV videos. Once Live has also been upgraded to 2.0, and can now stitch mid-roll ads into live content. Once Live 2.0 is now in open beta and should become generally available this summer.
