Brightcove Launches Video Content Exchange
A just-announced offering from Brightcove lets customers access a library of premium third-party videos that they can use on their sites. Called the Brightcove Content Exchange, it includes content from AOL Video, Diagonal View, Internet Video Archive, NewsLook, ScreenPlay, Inc., and Touchstorm, and it's open to Brightcove Video Cloud Pro and Enterprise customers. Those interested in taking part will need to request approval to join. A link to apply is at the bottom of the Brightcove Content Exchange page.
Customers can show third-party videos on their sites and run ads against them. Shared content categories include news, sports, entertainment, and how-to. APIs built into the exchange let content owners stop sharing videos when needed and let the publisher change the ad source.
"As the first company to recognize the benefits of enabling Video Cloud customers to access AOL Video content, we are thrilled to be part of the Brightcove Content Exchange," says Ran Harnevo, senior vice president at AOL Video. "The demand for high-quality, relevant video is growing and our participation represents the next level of a partnership that has successfully created a unique opportunity for thousands of clients to easily access premium video."
