CanalWeb Enters The Spanish Speaking Market
CanalWeb accelerates international development and opens on 3 July its first European subsidiary in Barcelona together with Ovideo, a Spanish audio-visual production company.
CanalWeb Spain will develop an original schedule of Spanish programs using the CanalWeb model - highly themed and specialized channels, local channels and public access. CanalWeb Spain will also offer a range of services for business (corporate and branded channels).
Spanish adaptations of some of CanalWeb's top rating French programs will be produced by CanalWeb Spain : « Diagonale » (Chess), « Thésaurus » (treasure hunt), « JVTV » (video games), « Diplo TV » (the diplomatic world), « Salsa TV » (music), « Grek Frite » (hip-hop), « La Grand' Messe » (general information), « Star Tech » (new technologies), « WebMoto » (motorbikes), etc.
CanalWeb Spain will leverage the creativity of Ovideo, producer of « BTV » (Barcelona TeleVision), an important and innovative European « City-TV ».
CanalWeb Spain will open its first studio in Barcelona, in September, and the first programs will be distributed via the Spanish Internet using CanalWeb's technology platform. The CanalWeb Spain team (12 people) will be supported by the CanalWeb Paris team (100 people), and the Ovideo team in Barcelona (120 people). A second studio has been planned to open in Madrid.
