Cannes Launches Online Film Festival
The Cannes Web site (www.festival-cannes.fr), created by Filmfestivals Entertainment Group, will stream festival coverage, independent feature films, and shorts by emerging filmmakers in a promotion with Kodak. The features will include "Baby Luv" by Robert Martin Carroll, which won a best film award at the New York Independent Film Festival, and "Tax Day" by Sundance Institute directing fellow Laura Colella. The site will also feature three classic movies by Hitchcock, Orson Wells, and George A. Romero.
The site will also premiere interactive digital movies produced by the Cannes Digital Lab, shot with interactivity integrated into the film from the script stage. Filmfestivals will deliver coverage of the Cannes Festival — including news, interviews, and jury member profiles — to 20 partner sites, as well as to PDAs, pocket PCs and mobile phones.
