Check Point Enables Streaming Media With QoS
Check Point Software Technologies Ltd (http://www.checkpoint.com) announced a secure streaming media network architecture with Quality of Service (QoS), policy enforcement and centralized management.
"Companies want to deploy advanced streaming media solutions to support confidential employee, partner, and customer communications without compromising their security policy or network data flow," said Kevin Unangst, group product manager, Digital Media Division, Microsoft Corp. "We're excited that Check Point has integrated support for Windows Media in their SVN architecture to deliver a secure and manageable streaming media solution to the enterprise."
Check Point has embedded protocol support from Microsoft, RealNetworks and Apple enabling enterprise customers to allow user authentication and other QoS issues.
Check Point has adopted the International Telecommunication Union H.323 standard and proprietary protocols such as RTSP and Windows Media.
"Secure streaming media is becoming a critical E-Business technology across the Internet, intranet and extranets," said Asheem Chandna, vice president of marketing and business development for Check Point Software Technologies. "Our Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture now uniquely provides a high-performance solution for securing confidential media streams while at the same time enabling sophisticated quality of service."
