Cidera Hires New Vice President of Marketing

Satellite content delivery company Cidera (http://www.cidera.com) announced it has hired marketing executive Ramachandran Viswanathan as Vice President of Marketing.

"With extensive experience spearheading marketing efforts for fast-growing companies and an in-depth understanding of satellite delivery of streaming media, Ram has the exact combination of skills and experience we need to continue our efforts in delivering rich broadband content to the edge of the Internet," said Cidera COO Bob Marggraf. "In addition, his proven expertise in developing brand awareness in international markets will be extremely valuable as we expand our services internationally beyond Europe into Asia and Latin America."

Viswanathan has experience leading marketing efforts and is knowledgeable about streaming media services and technology, an area he has worked in since 1997. He joins Cidera from WorldSpace Corporation, where, as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, he was responsible for the successful launch of streaming audio andmultimedia services.
