Clearleap Closes $20M Series C Round, Will Further Expansion
Clearleap, an IP-based content management and distribution company based in Atlanta, Georgia, announced today that it has closed a $20 million Series C funding round. The round was led by Susquehanna Growth Equity, with participation from existing investors Trinity Ventures and Noro-Moseley. This round brings Clearleap's total funding to $36 million.
The investment will go toward furthering Clearleap's expansion both in the U.S. and around the world. The company notes that it opened a European headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in August of this year. It operates data centers in Frankfurt, Germany, and Amsterdam.
The Clearleap multiscreen platform gives content owners and providers a framework for enhancing existing video services and creating new services. Clearleap counts HBO, Verizon, Time Warner Cable, and Travel Channel as clients.
“Our goal is to become the technology partner of choice for every content owner or service provider looking to supercharge their efforts to deliver video across every screen," says Braxton Jarratt, Clearleap's CEO. "This round of funding enables us to realize this goal much faster and cement our reputation in this space.”
Clearleap released ClearPlay Authentication in July, 2012, a TV Everywhere authentication system integrated with Adobe Pass. The service was created to make authentication easy and inexpensive for broadcasters.
