Contigo and Evoke To Merge
Webconferencing provider Contigo Software (http://www.contigo.com) announced today it was merging with Evoke (formerly Vstream), a like-minded audio/video streaming provider. No financial details were revealed.
The combination offers a mix of useful applications. Contigo focuses on web-based collaboration like whiteboarding, chat, application viewing, and polls while Evoke (http://www.evoke.com) primarily provides audioconferences that can be heard over the Internet through Real or Windows Media.
"We believe the proposed acquisition would provide our customers with an integrated web-based solution for Internet communication services," said Bob Brown, COO and President of Contigo.
Evoke has been readying itself recently to make a major change. In February, it changed its name from Vstream and has been making some executive hirings recently.
According to the companies, Contigo will become a subsidiary of Evoke.
