Destiny Releases Version 2.0 of Clipstream

Destiny Media Technologies (http://www.destiny-software.com) announced the release of version 2.0 of clipstream ( http://www.clipstream.com), theirJava-based product for adding streaming audio to web pages.

In this new version, the audio codechas been replaced giving better quality, says the company.

Audio can be embedded directly onto web pages and are played back by surfers with a Java-enabled browser. No separate player is required to listen to clipstream audio.

Clipstream accepts MP3 or WAV files.

"The potential market for this product is vast", says clipstream product manager David Stevenson. "Over 90% of the browsers in use today are Java-compatible and our product works with both the Mac and the PC. This meansstreaming audio can be accessed by virtually every web user."

Another clipstream product, bannerstream, adds audio on demand to banner ads. Users simply click on the ad, or click on a "play" button to hear the audio.

clipstream costs $99 for smaller websites and licensing models are available bigger sites like hosting companies, content providers, aggregators, portals andintranet use.
