Digital Lava Announces FireStream Encoding Station

Digital Lava (http://www.digitallava.com) is moving into new territory. It announced today the launch of its FireStream Encoding Station, a hardware/software platform that encodes media in real time in multiple data formats and bit rates

FireStream utilizes proprietary encoding software that works with Windows Media, Real and MPEG-1.

"Digital Lava is committed to expanding the access to streaming media to an ever increasing marketplace. By leveraging our core technology based upon industry standards with the experience of encoding thousands of hours of content through our Publishing Services group, we were able to develop an elegant and efficient solution,'' said Bob Greene, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Lava.

Greene said that FireStream was originally conceived and developed for Digital Lava's internal use to save time and money.

"We will be marketing FireStream Encoding Station through both direct sales and value-added reseller distribution channels,'' Greene said. "Our national sales force will be offering FireStream Encoding Station as a companion product to our proprietary publishing tool, vPublisher, and the VAR channel will bring us into new markets such as entertainment and news."
