Dyyno Gives Video Publishers Their Own Roku Channel

Video portal provider Dyyno has just announced a Roku channel option, which lets customers send live, linear, and video-on-demand content to viewers' living rooms. Customers can send high-definition content right to viewers HDTVs.

Dyyno is offering two methods for going on Roku. In the first, publishers can have their own branded channel, which requires about two weeks of development. This costs a one-time channel development fee of $7,500, as well as a monthly fee based on usage (starting at $149 per month for 1,000 viewer hours).

In the second option, content creators can get their work shown on Dyyno's own Roku portal in minutes. This requires only a monthly fee based on usage (starting at $149 per month for 1,000 viewer hours).

Roku is the dominant set-top box delivering streamed content from the internet. While most people buy Roku boxes to stream Netflix's instant view content, there are also channels for Major League Baseball, Amazon Video on Demand, and Ultimate Fighting.

"With Dyyno's turnkey solution on Roku, content owners and publishers can go from creating content to distributing it to a million family rooms, all within a day," says Raj Jaswa, CEO and president of Dyyno.

"We want to give our customers a wide variety of viewing options from a wide variety of sources," says Jim Funk, Roku's vice president of business development. "Dyyno's comprehensive and turnkey live streaming platform greatly simplifies the process of bringing content to Roku's customers."
