Dyyno Launches Universal Broadcaster

Stream anything on your desktop to anyone with the just-launched Dyyno Universal Broadcaster (DUB) from video portal provider Dyyno.

The software works with Justin.tv accounts, letting users easily stream live content. Presets for games, movies, documents, and photos lets people optimize their stream for whatever type of content they're sending. If they want to fine-tune their stream, advanced controls let them adjust bit rate, frame rate, and resolution.

People can even use DUB to capture live video streams and relay them to a new group of users. The software can record streams and save them to the local disk as MP4 files, then upload those to the Justin.tv account.

"Dyyno would like everybody to extract the highest value from their video content," says Raj Jaswa, CEO and president of Dyyno. "With the Dyyno Universal Broadcaster and the viewership of Justin.tv portal, broadcasters will be able to put out highest quality video to one of the largest audiences, instantaneously."

DUB is being launched at the DEMO fall 2010 conference starting today at Silicon Valley. The DUB desktop software will be free to the first 10,000 downloaders. After than, it will cost a one-time fee of $199. The software works on Windows and Macintosh computers, although the Mac software is still in beta. We tested the product with a Dyyno PR rep and found the video extremely jerky with a 5 to 10 second delay.

"Our goal at Justin.tv is to provide the best, easiest way to create and share live video," says Justin Kan, founder and president of Justin.tv. "We're happy that innovative companies like Dyyno understand that goal and want to add their own value to the platform. HD-quality video is a great addition for our 30-million strong community of broadcasters and users."
